How to Transition Your Skin Into Fall
- Posted on: Sep 30 2017
You may not realize it, but the transition from summer to fall can have quite the impact on your skin. Now that the weather is getting a little bit colder, your skin is more prone to drying out and becoming chapped— which can lead to fine lines and wrinkles, discomfort, and even acne. As we transition into fall, consider switching up your skin care as well.
Wear a Thicker Day Cream
During The summer, you can put on a tinted moisturizer and a light SPF and call it good. But now that temperatures are dropping, your skin is going to need a bit more moisture to keep it going through the day. To help your skin stay hydrated, we encourage our patients to wear a thicker day cream. Look for ingredients that contain aquaporins, hyaluronic acid, glycerin, ceramides, and antioxidants.
Try a Hydrating Mask Before Bed
Sheet masks and clay masks are all the rage right now. Containing moisturizing ingredients like those listed above, these masks can target your pores and hydrate your skin in the process. To get the most out of a hydrating mask, try to use one no more than twice a week— otherwise, it can cause acne breakouts.
Schedule a Chemical Peel
Chemical peels work to target the top few layers of your skin and encourage the production of newer, healthier skin in the process. By using ingredients like glycolic acid, chemical peels are safe and efficient. Plus, because they can balance out the oil on your face, can regulate your skin and prevent it from drying out or producing too much oil.
Ease into fall while encouraging healthier skin by using the tips listed above. If you would like to learn more about your skincare, contact SKIN Medical Spa today to schedule an appointment!
