How to Take Care of Your Skin While On Spring Vacay

Skin Care  San Francisco, CA Whether you’re a parent who is escaping with your kids to somewhere warmer or if you are just taking yourself on a much-needed spring break vacation, the last thing that you want to do is come back with more freckles, sun spots, or worse, a sunburn. To help keep your skin safe and protected while you’re laying out in the sun and getting some much-needed rest and relaxation, we have created a list of a few tips.

Pack More Than One Sunscreen

If you have kids then you know that everyone probably has their preference when it comes to sunscreen. Some people like a spray-on sunscreen, other people like a stick, but most people prefer a lotion. To make sure that everyone (including yourself) wears sunscreen, make sure that you pack each kind; that way you won’t have to pull any arms to get your kids to wear it.

Reapply Sunscreen

In addition to packing every kind of sunscreen that’s under the sun, make sure that you also apply your sunscreen every two hours on average; especially if you are doing water sports or activities. Because water is reflective, it can put your skin at a higher risk of getting burned which is the last thing that we want to happen. By reapplying your sunscreen every two hours, you can prevent burns or too much sun exposure.

Cover Up

When you’re in the water, you have to wear a swimsuit which means that you won’t get as much protection from sun damage. However, if your kids are out of the water and are sitting on the beach building sand castles, put a cover-up and hat on them. A cover-up will help shield their back and shoulders from the additional sun and a hat will cover their face, neck, and ears.
