How to Get Your Skin To Retain Water
- Posted on: Jun 15 2017
Does it seem like your skin is more chapped and dry than usual? Maybe the warmer weather is making your skin feel tired. To help you feel more comfortable in the skin you’re in, we have created a brief article with three easy tips to use to help your skin better retain moisture. Read on to learn more.
Change the Temperature
You may think that you want to get rid of the oil on your face, but that’s not the case; you just want to stabilize it. Although it may feel calm and relaxing to use hot water to wash your face, it can strip your skin of oils and leave your skin feeling a bit more dehydrated. As a suggestion, try washing your face with cooler water— you will notice the difference.
Remember, You Are What You Eat
By eating foods that contain a lot of water, you can help hydrate your skin from the inside out. Foods like cucumber, watermelon, and lettuce, contain high amounts of water to help keep you hydrated. In addition to adding these foods to your diet, make sure that you’re drinking at least 64 ounces of water every day.
Now that you know the importance of hydrating your body by the food you eat remember the importance of using a hydrating moisturizing cream on your skin both morning and night. This will help moisturize your skin on the surface level and then hopefully penetrate it deep enough into the middle layers of your skin.
Having hydrated skin can help you cut down on the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. From washing your face with colder water to using a skin cream twice a day, these tips will work to keep your skin more moisturized than ever.
