3 Things to Know About Rosacea
- Posted on: Apr 15 2018
If you have dry, red patches on your skin and get flushed very easily (no matter how embarrassed or not you are), then you may be suffering from a skin condition called rosacea. Affecting more than 14 million Americans if you have this condition you are certainly not alone. To help you feel more informed, we have created a brief list of three things to know about rosacea.
Know What Triggers Rosacea
One trigger for someone with rosacea may not be the same trigger for you. If you have recently been diagnosed with rosacea, start to make a note of what triggers your flare-ups. For instance, is stress a trigger? Try to keep a journal for a few weeks to write down things you’ve done that you think are triggers. Then you can try to avoid those things, if possible, in the future.
Rosacea Can Be Treated
Although there is no cure for rosacea, it can be treated with a variety of things such as the VBeam from SKIN Medical Spa. This non-invasive laser procedure helps to substantially eliminate and reduce redness and flushing associated with rosacea. Depending on your skin and the severity of your rosacea will help us determine how many treatments may be required.
Be Gentle With Your Skin
If you have just been diagnosed with rosacea, try switching up your skincare to products that are fragrance-free and gentle on the skin. Skincare that contains ingredients like fragrances and chemicals can cause flare-ups. The more gentle products you use on your skin, the less likely you are to have a flare-up.
